If you love Tomb Raider, then this is worth picking up. The new challenge tomb is near the beginning and nets you a lot of salvage and XP. Just be sure to revisit it later when you have the grenade launcher upgrade. I forgot about that until after I finished the game.
At last some good Mac/Tomb Raider news! Feral Interactive have announced that they will be releasing Tomb Raider Underworld for the Mac on May 31st. Good things come to those who wait! Mar 13, 2013 Firestarter - Use a Fire Arrow (or the shotgun's incendiary ammo) to ignite six Corpse Bags. Arrow ammunition is limited when you first visit this area. This bundle pack, containing all DLC previously released for Tomb Raider, enhances Lara’s formative first adventure with all the single-player DLC and ups the ante online with six weapons, four characters and eight maps for the multiplayer game.
Lara's outfits are fun. I spent most of the game in the Aviatrix outfit, but your mileage may vary. Her default look is really good as well.
The upgrades they give you are a little more sketchy. Lara's skills are in a tiered system, so this just lets you buy/unlock them early with XP instead of later. Convenient, but not necessary. Probably the best one is the Agility skill as it lets you climb faster and fall farther without dying. Handy to get around.
The multiplayer is actually decently fun. And this is probably where the DLC shines most. The weapons are really good and you don't have to grind 30-50 levels to get them like everything else. The multi characters are just skins, but I enjoy the executioner.
The new multiplayer maps are also really good. The problem with releasing DLC maps is then splitting the community between those who have them, and those who don't. Still if you have some friends or a group going, they are great places to fight.
TOMB RAIDER 2013 Outfits/Skins and Other Downloadable Content (DLC)
The following downloadable content (DLC) is available for TOMB RAIDER. As far as I know, all are available on PC through Steam, PS3 through the PlayStation Store, and Xbox 360 through the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. If I missed anything, please let me know.
So far the developers have said they have no plans to release any additional single-player DLC. If, like me, you find this unacceptable, I encourage you to make your voice heard by posting a request on the Eidos Forums in this DLC/Feature request thread.
NOTE: The 'details' links go to the Steam site, which contains images and info about the PC DLC. Naturally you can find the same info on the PlayStation Store and Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
Single-Player DLC
CHALLENGE TOMBS
Tomb of the Lost Adventurer – This add-on challenge tomb, once purchased and installed, is located in the Coastal Forest level. It contains a typical challenge tomb puzzle as well as a hidden area full of goodies, including salvage, food caches and ammo. Cost: $2.99/€2.49/240 MSP. [details]
SINGLE-PLAYER OUTFITS/SKINS ($0.99/€0.79/80 MSP each)
There are no outfits you can unlock by beating the game. All outfits must be purchased. (Boo!) Also no bikini. (Yay!) Here is a list of the available outfits with images below. Outfits you have bought and downloaded will be available in the Gear menu when you use a base camp, once you've unlocked the option to upgrade Lara's gear in the game.
Aviatrix – This outfit dresses Lara up as a classic 1930s adventurer, bomber jacket and all.[details]
Demolition – Features an engineering jumpsuit and belt pack. [details]
Guerrilla – This outfit makes Lara look like a jungle warfare guerrilla. [details]
Hunter – This outfit camouflages Lara in a heavy coating of mud, action movie-style. [details]
Mountaineer – The Mountaineer outfit features the padded vest, grapples, and harness of an expert climber. [details]
Sure-Shot – With the Sure-Shot outfit, Lara wears a competition style archery suit with high boots and forearm guards. [details]

SINGLE-PLAYER SKILLS/UPGRADES ($0.99/€0.79/80 MSP each)
NOTE:All of the following buyable upgrades can also be unlocked during gameplay. So don't spend money unless you just want to unlock them early.
Agility – The Agility skill lets Lara ascend mountain faces more quickly and ensures she lands safely from higher falls (single player upgrade). Same as the unlockable 'Climber's Agility' skill in the game.[details]
Animal Instinct – The Animal instinct skill lights up XP-laden animals in Survival Instinct mode, to help Lara upgrade more quickly (single player upgrade). [details]
Headshot Reticle – The headshot reticle lets Lara utilize her weapons more accurately. When used with the pistol silencer, it makes for a deadly combination (single player upgrade). [details]
Pistol Burst – The three-shot burst pistol upgrade lets Lara unleash a hail of firepower on her foes (single player upgrade). Same as the unlockable 'Burst Fire Mod' in the game. [details]
Pistol Silencer – The pistol silencer lets Lara use stealthy tactics to overcome even the trickiest of situations (single player upgrade). Same as the in-game silencer upgrade.[details]
